The Use of Party Tents for weddings and receptions is becoming much more popular.

Brides are looking for offsite locations where they can have unique, and personalized weddings, with truly individualized ambiance. Examples of outdoor, off-site locations include: private homes, historic sites, farms, wineries, amusement parks, gardens and parks.

With big weddings back in style and spaces to accommodate them at a premium, people have migrated to tented events, and have been delighted with what they’ve found.

We can install floors, dance floors, stages, ceiling fans, carpeting, heating or cooling, and of course lighting. Perimeter lighting creates a nice effect as it is installed around the complete perimeter of the tent. Twinkle lights can be draped from the top of the tent to the sides. Par lights can be directed toward the ceiling and the addition of colored gels will certainly enhance the mood. Ceiling liners are available to add the ultimate touch of elegance.

The Tent Wedding Check List

  • The average wedding requires 15 to 20 square feet of space per person. Buffets generally require more room than sit down dinners.
  • Any additional tents for the ceremony, cocktails, cooking or restrooms. Consider covered walkways or connection marquees. In order To keep wet weather from disrupting your event, use tents to keep guests under cover the whole time.
  • Generators for heating, cooling, lighting cooking, or musical equipment.
  • Additional equipment for cooking or food preparation
  • Risers and dance floors (for safety reasons, you should always install dance floor on a solid surface)
  • Tables/table linens and chairs/chair covers w/ sashes.
  • China, flatware, and glassware
  • Lighting for the tent and surrounding area
  • Portable restrooms and wash stations, if no facilities are available at your location.
  • Reserve your equipment at least six months in advance.
  • Investigate local ordinances for your site. You may be required to secure permits for tent installation and many areas have rules that can affect crowd size, parking and noise levels.

Logistical questions include:

  • Is there adequate space to erect the size tent I’ll need?
  • Is there enough space around the tent to stake the tent adequately?
  • Are there any overhead obstructions that would interfere with the tent or create safety hazards?
  • How far in advance will I have access to the site for setting up the tent?
  • Tents cannot be erected during windy conditions, so it’s a good idea whenever possible to schedule tent installation for a few days before the event.
